Regional Manager of Employee Health Services
POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the general direction of the Director Employee Services, this position is part of a managerial leadership team responsible for leading and managing employee health services for the Ministry Health Care system. The incumbent is responsible for a regional team a of professionals that deliver employee health services programs for MHC. The incumbent provides leadership, support and advocacy for the employee health service teams.
POSITION SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS:
- Provide direction, leadership and consultative services as part of system wide employee health team responsible for pre-employment evaluations, periodic and/or annual health assessments, workplace conditions, incident and injury management, non-employee assessments, wellness operations, and collaboration with safety and infection control.
- Partner with Director of Employee Services, regional EH managers, HR Client Services, and HR Total Rewards on the implementation of healtheducation programs and assessments focused on overall employee wellness.
- Ensure that the Employee Health teams provide consultative support for the centralized leave management team with regards to absences due to illness or injury.
- Ensure the successful transition of the Employee Health Function to a centralized delivery model by working with administrative leaders, human resources and other key stakeholders and by overseeing an effective change management process.
- Collaborate with other health care, safety, risk management, human resources, and infection control professionals relative to the delivery of employee health wellness services.
- Develop metrics to ensure the effectiveness of all program offerings and modify programs based on results.
- Keep abreast of health, benefits, and regulatory trends and identify their impact on health and wellness programs.
- Ensure that the provision of employee health nursing is within the legal scope of practice for nursing.
- Responsible for a regional Employee Health budget.
- Travel required.
POSITIONS AVAILABLE:
- Central Region (primary office location at Saint Clare's Hospital or Saint Michael's Hospital): 40 hpw/M-F
- Northern Region (primary office location at Howard Young Medical Center or Saint Mary's Hospital); 40hpw/M-F
- Western Region (primary office location at Saint Joseph's Hospital); 40hpw/M-F
- Education: Bachelor degree in Business, Human Resources or Healthcare, or equivalent combination of education and work experience required.
- Experience: Five years leadership experience in employee health services, occupational health services or related field required
- Experience: Previous experience with the administration of HIPAA, ERISA, OSHA standards, State of Wisconsin employment and health laws, JCAHO standards, and CDC.
- Experience: Previous experience consulting on medical issues relative to the administration of FMLA, Worker’s Compensation and overall absence management policies and practices.
- Experience: Experience in a healthcare environment preferred.
- Experience: Successful experience in a fast paced, multi location, collaborative environment required.
- Licensure: Current RN license in the State of Wisconsin required.
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of Employee Health/Occupational Health medicine practices and experience with Employee Health/Occupational Health Management software.
- Skills: Excellent communication and change management leadership skills required.
WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
This position has physical requirements that require a full range of body motion including, but not limited to, physically assisting patients, requiring stretching, bending, lifting, sitting, standing, walking, pushing and pulling, manual and finger dexterity and hand-eye coordination. Vision and hearing must be correctable to the normal range. Work may be performed in a medical office environment with potential exposure to communicable diseases and other conditions common to the clinic environment.
